Forensic Architecture (Goldsmiths London) presents their examination of Andreas Temme’s statements, former employee of Hessen Office for the Protection of the Constitution

Invitation to press conference on 6 April 2017, 12:00 p.m. in Kassel at Kulturzentrum Schlachthof

This Thursday, 6 April, is the 11th anniversary of Halit Yozgat’s death. In 2006 he was shot dead in his internet café on Holländische Straße in Kassel. He was the 9th victim of the NSU.

On 6 April 2017 at 12:00 p.m. a press conference will be held at Kulturzentrum Schlachthof, Kassel, to present the work of Forensic Architecture, a research group at Goldsmiths University, London ( They will present the preliminary results of their study of Halit Yozgat’s murder case. The press conference is being organized by Initiative 6. April and the Tribunal Unraveling the NSU Complex.

Forensic Architecture has collaborated with the Kassel-based Initiative 6 April and the Tribunal Unraveling the NSU Complex to scrutinize the role of the former employee of the Constitutional Protection Office, Andreas Temme, who was in the internet café at the time of the murder. The legal context of the murder is still riddled with questions despite the ongoing trial before the High Regional Court Munich, which began in May 2013. There are a lot of questions surrounding Andreas Temme’s role in particular. Back in 2006 Temme was working for the Hessen Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the domestic secret service. At the time of the murder, he was in the internet café. He left the internet café just seconds before Halit’s father, Ismail Yozgat, walked in and immediately saw his son lying on the ground behind his desk. Andreas Temme has said multiple times that he saw nothing, heard nothing, and otherwise didn’t notice anything unusual.

Forensic Architecture built a 1:1 model of the internet café and used 3-D modelling technology to undertake an elaborate study of the event. Their three leading questions were: What did Andreas Temme see? What did he hear? And what did he smell? For more details, see the Forensic Architecture press kit.

The results are beyond spectacular. They powerfully call into question how Andreas Temme has been characterized up to now. By combining digital and analog investigative methods, Forensic Architecture has produced new evidence that can stand in court.

Their preliminary results will be presented at the press conference on Thursday, 6 April 2017 at 12:00 p.m. The precise location will be announced shortly beforehand, but will be somewhere around Halitplatz.

More results from their study of the murder case will be presented between 17 and 21 May 2017 as part of the Tribunal Unraveling the NSU Complex in Cologne.

There will also be a march held on 6 April starting at 1:00 p.m. with the motto “No next victim!” ( The march will start at Kassel town hall. The official memorial service will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Halitplatz and will culminate in an address held by the Yozgat family.

With kind regards,
Initiative 6 April
